Description
A life changing experience
We currently have the only Whale and Dolphin Watching License in the Hout Bay area. Our Whale Watching trips are 2 hours long. We head out from Hout Bay Harbour towards Vulcan Rock and from there either head towards Llunduno or Kommetjie depending on where the whales have last been sighted. While we cannot guarantee whale sightings, our expert Whale Watching Guide will answer all your sea life questions and ensure that your trip is memorable. The scenery from the ocean is breathtaking.
Dolphins regularly visit our Bay to feed and frolic. The three species we typically see are Long Beaked Common Dolphin, Dusky Dolphin and the fascinating Heaviside’s Dolphin. While Whale Watching is very seasonal in other areas, we have sightings all year round. From November to June, We see many Humpback Whales typically their behavior focusses on feeding. From July to October, we see humpbacks travelling north to breed and calve near Gabon.
Southern Right Whales are not that prolific in our area, but we are always on the lookout for them.
Brydes Whales are also often seen in our waters.
